Special praise: "Half-Life 2: VR MOD" opens public beta

A third-party mod that lets you play Half-Life 2 in a Room-Scale virtual reality environment is in public beta today. The mod was developed by the Source VR Mod Team and is available for free, but players who want to experience VR will need to own Half-Life 2, which currently sells for $9.99. The mod is now available on Steam and claims to be compatible with wired VR headsets with tracking controls, such as Valve's Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and several WindowsMixed Reality models. If you connect the Meta Quest 2 to your PC via a USB cable or wirelessly, you can theoretically experience the game as well. The official introduction of this mod on Steam reads: "Half-Life 2: VR is a third-party mod based on the classic PC game from 2004, allowing you to experience the original gaming experience in virtual reality. You are ready to be a freebie. Man?" was particularly positive out of 442 reviews.
