Dell announced to close its Russian office and stop all business in mid-August

Dell Technologies Inc. became another Western company to leave Russia on Saturday. The company announced that it would cease all operations in Russia after closing its offices in Russia in mid-August. Dell, a key server supplier to Russia, has been involved in sanctions since the February 24 conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Dell suspended sales in Ukraine and Russia in February, saying it would monitor the situation to determine its next steps. Dell spokesman Mike Siemienas told Reuters: “In mid-August, we will close offices and cease all Russian operations. Back in February, we decided not to be in Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine’s Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Sell, service or support products, except in Crimea, which has been embargoed." Tech-focused publication CNews reported this week that Dell is pulling out of Russia entirely and will lay off all local employees. IT-focused news portal TAdviser published a similar report. "We are monitoring the development of the situation. According to our data, the vast majority of Dell's R&D center specialists and support engineers in St. Petersburg and Moscow have received Competitively paid job opportunities from Russian producers".
